About Us

Established in 1971, The P.E.I. Grain Elevators Corporation provides commercial grain handling, marketing (both pool and open market) along with value added services to farmers. It also offers growers access to cost effective storage and drying services, crop risk management tools and, sound business relationships with end use customers in domestic, regional and International market places. Size and scale are important. Accordingly, there are three modern elevator facilities operating across Prince Edward Island with a combined storage & handling capacity in excess of 35,000 metric tonnes.

The administrative office is located in Kensington. Operations are overseen by seven appointed, knowledgeable and skilled Board members (including growers) working in tandem with a committed work force. Major crops handled & marketed include feed barley, feed wheat, milling wheat, corn, oats, and, soybeans. Diversification is important. New crop marketing opportunities with profit potential are always under investigation. Trucking, custom drying, grain and oilseed roasting & extruding services round out available value added services. A feed ingredient import service is also available upon request.

GEC is a member of the Atlantic Grains Council.
